I LOVE/LIKE RITSUKO - (3 comments)

Why Shinsephirot likes Ritsu:

I think she's the best!!! She may be suicidale and colded hearted, but thats how all scientists are. They only care about there work, still she's the best!!!

Why Ritsutopia likes Ritsuko:

Okay here i go... RITSUKO RULES MAJOR ASS! Shes not only a bitch like asuka she's also a leader and a decision maker, like Misato i guess.(Sue me if you feel the need, hey. We could go on judge judy and get payed to bitch at each other!)  Alright let me get one thing straight, she DID go insane and did do some bad suff but that doesn't make me dislike a person, does it make YOU? Anyway when she yelled at Misato in that one ep and tol misato that she was taking over i was screaming with joy! Yes, yes, baby yes! You can tell she was laid the night before!!!  Well one thing is she either needs to stay brunette or die her eyebrows because you can totally tell she bleaches, am i the only one that noticed that?

Why Melinda likes Ritsuko:

Ritsuko isn't evil, she's just the unfortunate daughter of circumstance. She was raised by a mother who cared very little for her; from an early age she was taught that science is the ultimate priority, ranking even above the cultivation of healthy human relationships. Her childhood, thus, was presumably quite lonely, and in those formative years, a pattern of isolation sets nothing but further isolation for adulthood.  Ritsuko, taking after her mother, grew to be an able scientist and critical thinker. So critical, in fact, that she had little tolerance for the suggestions or emotional approaches of those around her. In a perverse sense, her greatest lover was her work. It was science and only science that stimulated her in such a great way, the only thing which could make her feel genuinely alive. Not only did she like her studies, but she absolutely needed them.  Quite obviously, though, polynomials and intermolecular bonding can only give someone so much company. I think that at the base of Ritsuko's heart, she yearns for someone to love her, and for her to be able to love in return. It is difficult for her to open up, however, because the "cold scientist" facade has been the only image which she has ever projected of herself. To change this image would be to knock her identity down to its very foundation--a frightening endeavor for anyone, and one which obviously scares Ritsuko enough for her to continue to hide. As the years of her life pass, the wall between her and humanity becomes thicker and thicker, harder to penetrate, and her spirit is slowly locked into her own prison. At this point, Ritsuko loses a clear sense of even her own "true" identity, becomes disillusioned, and thus outwardly bitter towards others. Yet the perceptive person has only to look through Ritsuko's exterior coolness and guise of self-sufficiency to see the interior-- a vulnerable, crying human being who simply wants to be lifted from the misery her life has become.  I am not saying that you have to like Dr. Ritsuko Agagi; indeed, some of her actions are deplorable. However, I do request that you see her in her full three dimensions, as an understandable character possessing a great deal of humanity.

I AM NEUTRAL TOWARD RITSUKO - (2 comments)

Why jazlove is neutral toward Ritsuko:

i do not hate her. i pity her because she seems to not have faith because of what she wanted to to magi. i consider ritsuko suicidal and dangerous mad scientist. its good that she got killed, for the sake of humanity.

Why Ally is neutral toward Ritsuko:

At first I hated her, partly because I didn't know her much but then I realized as I read some Ritsiko fan sites that she was just another human being, trying to get the best out of life, and even though she may not be so likable at times, (affair with Gendou, selfish...). I guess she had sort of unusual reactions towards her mother's death, she probably just loved her mother and followedin her footsteps and then, towards the end, realized that her mother had taken wrong turns and she had followed her blindly. She hated Rei and destroyed her "spare parts" partly because she was jealous of the Yui-Rei factor but also because she blamed Rei for her mother's death - talking psychologically, she was confused which made Ritsiko such a cold character towards certain persons. Personally she isn't a favourite but I don't hate her, I just understand her.

I HATE/DISLIKE RITSUKO - (2 comments)

Why ASUKASTRIKES doesn't like Ritsuko:

I find Ritsuko to be very cruel and cold-hearted.  In genesis 0:8, when Shinji is trapped inside the Angel, she says, "the pilot's life is irrelevant".  Before then I hadn't really cared one way or another about Ritsuko -- She annoyed me because she always was mean to Misato, but she could also be sort of cool at times. In genesis 0:8 I hated her, and never liked her again after that point.  In genesis 0:12 Ritsuko destroys Rei out of jealousy, just after Rei III was created.  She is self-centered and doesn't deserve the trust of her best friend Misato, which Misato quickly finds out.  Ritsuko often lies to her and keeps Misato in the dark about everything, claiming that there is no more to know when suddenly Misato comes up with more information, proving her friend has lied to her numerous times.

Why Dark_Rinoa doesn't like Ritsuko:

Shinji was my favorite character, so in episode 16, when Ritsuko said that all they needed back was EVA-01 and that the pilot's life was irrelevant I got rather angry... Also, I think she is a person with no morals at all...because...well, Gendo is 18 years older than her; let's just leave it at that. I liked her a little in a few episodes, but I hated the way she treated Misato, and later Asuka when she was talking about replacing her. I know that Asuka wasn't being a very good pilot then because her synch ratio was dropping, but still, I'm SURE Asuka heard that!! Also, Ritsuko seems to have no compassion for Maya, who hates blood and violence. She knows Maya looks up to her but doesn't really accept that and isn't a very good role model. She also destroyed Rei. In a way she ended Rei's suffering, because Rei didn't want to live over and over again, but still.... I find her actions cold... I don't think she really loved anyone, not even her mother, because of how she acted.

Please e-mail me your opinions of Ritsuko, whether they are good, bad, or neutral.
